Roots N Blues Continues After Hours at Mojos

The Roots N Blues after-party featuring the popular and recently reunited Columbia band Believers and the Midwest band Richard the Lionhearted drew a large, mixed crowd of blues and Believers fans.

When the music started at 10:30 a small crowd began to grow near the stage. By 11:30 there was a small mosh pit up front with tamer fans behind.

"The music was great," MU senior Felicia Greiff said. She added that she had seen what she believed to be the Believers final show last semester, and was really pleased to see that they were back in the line up for Roots N Blues.

Although Greiff couldn't get tickets to the festival itself, she enjoyed the after-parties at Mojos.

"Columbia has a great music scene and festivals like Roots N Blues bring some great bands to town," Greiff said.

Fire Hazards: Not to be Ignored

The Columbia Fire Department constructed a mock up of a dorm room in Speakers' Circle on Tuesday, September 18, and burned it to show students the seriousness of fire safety. Mobile at Mizzou was at the site to get some photos of the aftermath.

My Road Trip to Fayetteville

Over the weekend I took a road trip to the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. While I was there, I attended the Razorbacks vs. Rutgers game. Above are some pictures I took at the game and some videos of the stadium and how rowdy the fans were. Enjoy!

Roots n Blues

Saturday night I went to Roots N Blues and interviewed two Mizzou seniors about journalists using their cell phones as a camera. I was not able to download my video directly to blogger and in order to use the word Press blog app it is $60 a year!

Fire demonstration

On Tuesday the Columbia fire department did a control burn on a dorm room to show students just quick a fire can spread and how devastating it may be. Here are a couple pictures from the event!

Fire in a dormitory demonstration

Unfortunately I didn't make it in time to see the dorm actually on fire, but I was lucky enough to see the finished product. Below are images of what I saw and a video of the dorm room smoking after being extinguished.
